1899 Steam & Spirit ist ein Point’n’Click-Adventure, das sich noch in der Entwicklung befindet und komplett in HTML und Javascript realisiert wird. Die erste von mehreren geplanten Episoden ist bereits spielbar und macht einen recht guten Eindruck.

“The game is set in late Victorian Age and tell the story of some “celebrities of the time” in the background of a espionage war between French and British empires. You will meet and use people like Winston Churchill, Wright Brothers, Guglielmo Marconi, …. characters who at the dawn of the twentieth century have changed the world.”

Allerdings ist noch unklar, ob das Projekt überhaupt beendet werden kann, denn die Entwickler stoßen bei ihrer Geldmittelsuche scheinbar auf taube Ohren. Wer also 5000 EUR unter dem Kopfkissen liegen hat und dem Pixel verfallen ist, wird von den Italienern bestimmt mit offenen Armen empfangen.
